1st Dispatch from Pamela

Hello Kat and everybody,

Hope all is well with you. I believe Iram told me she has been in contact with you already....she is better with the email routine than I.

I am lucky to get online on the weekend.....my roommate is big with the internet.....she and her boyfriend......but it is no big deal for me......I am happy to do it on the weekend, and she is a fabulous roommate...very sweet and quiet.

I am doing ok....struggling with the dialogue.....but doing ok physically.

The first week was truly rough.....I just could not seem to get on top of the hydration thing.....but am pretty good now, although I continued to have some dizziness in class throughout last week.

My attitude is good.......when Bikram decides to keep us up late just to teach us discipline, I breathe deep and suck it up. I truly hate that aspect of the training.....but am working on detaching from any particular ownership.....just being one of the 'herd' as one staffer referred to us.

I do understand however, that nobody cares what I think. No problem for me. I kind of enjoy this no responsibility for anybody thing....it's a real change of pace.

Are you coming to visit during training? I know you were thinking about it, but didnt know what you decided.

Overall, I am enjoying myself. This is a great challenge. Today I was swimming in the salt water pool and managed to get my recalcitrant left leg wrapped around my right leg for the very first time.....so now I know it is possible, which gives me hope.

You know, Marsha gave me her email address before I left, and I left it at home.....feel free to share this email with anybody who might be interested...then if they want to write, I will answer them.

Bikram is a sweetheart in many ways. My heart feels open to him...but I am a typical american, and not prone in any case to hero worship, so some of this stuff is a bit over the top for me....but no problem......I'll take what I can from the training and leave the rest behind.

Lots of interesting folks here. Lots of stories.

I was amazed that folks quit and went home before the first week was even up. And one guy was 'invited' to leave. I'll tell you that story in person. It won't be the last interesting incident I am sure.

Take care.

I am off to study.

Namaste

Pamela
