concentration vs. meditation
When practicing a pose in yoga, find the delicate balance between taking the pose to its maximum extent (for you) and taking it beyond that point (this takes too much effort creating the wrong kind of tension in the body). As you advance notice you will lose the benefits of what you are doing because you are focusing too much "partial" attention on trying to perfect the pose. Focusing on one point is concentration (Dharana), focusing on all points at the same time is meditation! (Dhyana). When you focus on one point the other points lose their potential. Begin to meditate in the pose and the mind and body are absorbed into each other and truly begin to work together as one. (1.14.02)
